Here at Sustainable Café Ltd, this autumn, we are about to embark on a monumental adventure.
Sustainable Café Ltd has been in my mind for years, with plans to turn standard retail to a more prosperous, sustainable way of living for the masses. As well as protecting the Earth and our people in it through our sustainable development philosophies.
Over the course of October, I’m thinking this would be a great season to focus our work on establishing meaningful partnerships and friendships with one of the oldest trades in history.
Maybe not banking, which you may be thinking, but older than that, the traditions and years old candlemakers, the chandlers.
This month, I will be reaching out to some of the world’s most sustainable candle makers in the world. Some of them may be start-ups, like me and others more established.
Given the historical significance of candles (see Bob Cratchit in Scrooge’s office), I cannot wait to get my teeth into this new aspect of Sustainable Café Ltd and establish new and partnerships and friendships with businesses who have the same mindset of us.
Inasmuch that candles are very important for so many of us who enjoy them. Some people use them to heat their home, like my best buddies when we were students, while others may have a more religious angle as in churches and temples, yet others may light a candle to have that important ambience it offers… with that warm glow and sometimes added with a beautiful scent which makes life that bit nicer than a solo fluorescent bulb hanging from the ceiling.
In terms of Sustainable Café’s business aims, we try our best to stick to our passions and what we know. In view of that, over these coming weeks, we will scope out the most sustainable chandlers that the UK offers.
